About Laura
I am a 24-year-old elementary educator and a graduate of the University of Delaware, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education. I currently live and teach in Massachusetts, where I am a fifth-grade teacher.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy babysitting and tutoring in my free time because I love working with children and supporting their growth both inside and outside the classroom. When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me trying new recipes in the kitchen, or shopping. I value building positive relationships with students and families, and I strive to create a fun, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every child feels confident and successful.

My teaching approach is student-centered, with a strong focus on engaging learners and meeting their individual needs. As a certified K–8 educator, I have experience working with students of diverse ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I believe that every student learns differently, so I strive to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students can succeed.
I begin each lesson with a warm-up activity that is both engaging and enjoyable to capture students' attention and activate prior knowledge. From there, I introduce the lesson's focus, clearly communicating the learning objectives in student-friendly language so students understand what they are learning and why it is important. Throughout the lesson, I encourage active participation, provide opportunities for collaboration, and adjust instruction to meet students' individual learning needs. My goal is to foster confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning while helping every student achieve meaningful academic growth.
