About Jennifer
I have taught English and other humanities courses for 31 years to students ranging from grade 6 through college. My most recent position was as an Associate Professor of English where I tutored students individually along with my classroom teaching in essay composition, argumentation and rhetoric, literature, and developmental English. As a high school educator earlier in my career, I was certified in English and history education. I coached forensics and debate and drama as well!

My teaching method is traditional and effective. I collaborate with students to establish learning goals. I then evaluate the student's skills and competencies, so I can develop a learning plan that will help students reach their goals. Typically, I ask students to provide a writing sample and/or response to literature for evaluation, and then conference with me about their academic experiences. In this way I begin to build an effective learning relationship.
