• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  English is not just a subject; it is a medium of expression, communication, and global connection. It helps students build confidence, improve vocabulary, and develop critical thinking skillsI developed an interest in English from a young age because I loved reading stories, learning new words, and expressing my thoughts through writing and speaking. Gradually, I realized that language has the power to shape personality and open doors to opportunities worldwide. That passion inspired me to choose English as my field.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation is the impact a teacher can have on a student’s life. I was deeply inspired by my own English teacher, who encouraged me to speak confidently and never hesitate because of fear.Teaching allows me to guide students not only academically but also personally. I chose teaching because I believe education is the most powerful tool to empower individuals.

• How does your work help society?

  As an English teacher, I help students develop communication skills, confidence, and clarity of thought. Strong communication skills are essential in every profession whether in business, technology, healthcare, or public service.By helping students express themselves effectively, I contribute to building confident individuals who can participate actively in society and make informed decisions.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  One of my role models is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Although he was a scientist and President of India, he was also a great teacher at heart. He believed in inspiring young minds and always emphasized the importance of education and values.I admire his simplicity, dedication, and passion for guiding students. His belief that “teaching is a noble profession” strongly influences my approach.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy reading novels and self-development books, practicing creative writing, and engaging in public speaking activities. I also like participating in discussions and learning new vocabulary to continuously improve myself.These hobbies help me stay creative and bring fresh ideas into my classroom.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  Once, I had a student who was extremely shy and avoided speaking in class. Instead of forcing participation, I encouraged small steps like reading one line aloud or answering simple questions. Over time, that student began volunteering to speak.The day she confidently delivered a short speech in front of the class was a proud moment for me. It reminded me that teaching is not just about completing the syllabus it’s about building confidence and transforming lives.
