I had completed Science and Engineering (at College of Engineering, Guindy).
I have good grades for both the semesters. The syllabus for first year Maths can vary among different university. I request the student to mention well ahead the syllabus,book,chapter and topics the student wants to cover.
My main aim to check if has understood all the required knowlege/concepts required expected from the "PREVIOUS" years. Example: a student of class 11 may struggle because of poor understanding of some concepts of trignometry in class 9.
After laying this "foundation", I start building pillars (current concepts).
I discourage students from memorising equations which can be easily derived.
I cater to the needs of students both extremes in performance. If hi-performer is interested in tougher solving problems of that chapter, I can provide them from engineering college books or IIT-JEE material.

Class planning
I have been classes as and when required. Started training in high school days, then in college days and also in corporate training (in Emmeskay, now Siemens).
I have taught about 20 students. My students was had been failing always in Maths , scored 95+% in Diploma in Electrical Engineering (CIT).
Another who was poor in class 12 Maths, joined Bsc Maths and now a senior professional in Wipro Technologies.
Please NOTE; Dedication and commitment were the reason for High scores these (poorly performing) students. My role was directing them in right direction, explaining hard concepts patiently, giving practice problem with time consciousness.
