About Beth
I have 24 years of experience inside a regular, second grade classroom in a public school system, with class sizes usually ranging from 20-25 students. I have also worked with approximately 20-25 different students through online tutoring, both after school and in the summertime. I hold a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education, as well as an Educational Specialist Degree. Most of my 24 years of experience is with students at the K-3 level and my level of expertise lies in the area of reading/language arts. I like to plan lessons with plenty of activities that are both fun and engaging. I tend to incorporate game-type activities as well as basic drill and practice. Ongoing assessments and tracking are also usually a part of my lesson, so as to accurately guide instruction. I like to split my lessons into smaller chunks of activities to keep things fun, manageable, and interesting, while holding students attention throughout the entire session.
