About Cheryl
I have taught 5-6 year olds for 7 years as their class teacher. I worked with parents to ensure their child was ready for formal schooling. I also mentored several student teachers during their studies and practicals. During Covid in 2020, I homeschooled my own children, who are in Gr4 and Gr7 respectively.

With young learners, I believe the easiest way to engage them is through physical participation. This includes singing, dramatizing, reciting rhymes, playing games and so on. With parents, I like finding current and relevant information, tips and guidelines to support them with their child. Here role-playing scenarios often help, but mostly we have discussions about the support they need at home. With student teachers, I enjoy working with them during their assignments. In general, we would work on their grammar, vocabulary and proper understanding of questions and assignments. I am very patient and friendly and love seeing my learners grow and improve.
