About Jenna

I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge while helping students develop confidence in their own abilities. Having studied psychology, I understand that everyone learns differently, and I find it rewarding to adapt my teaching approach to suit each student's individual needs. One of the aspects I enjoy most is seeing a student begin to understand something they previously found difficult and become more confident in their abilities. I believe that learning should be an encouraging and positive experience, and I want to help students feel supported, motivated and capable of achieving their academic goals.

About the class

I graduated from Durham University with a 2:1 in Psychology and went on to complete an MSc in Developmental Psychopathology. At A-Level, I earned AAB in Psychology, Biology, and English Language. My studies have given me a solid understanding of psychology, research methods, and effective ways to learn.

I have two years of tutoring experience. During sixth form, I helped five GCSE students with their studies and exam preparation. I have also given one-to-one English lessons to a seven-year-old. These experiences have helped my students improve their subject knowledge, develop academic skills, and gain confidence.

I take a friendly, patient, and flexible approach to tutoring. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to fit their needs and goals. I want students to feel relaxed and supported, so they are comfortable asking questions and working through any challenging topics.

I break down complex topics into smaller, manageable parts and use clear explanations with practical examples. I include interactive activities and work through practice questions and past papers. I also check understanding often and adjust lessons to focus on areas where students need more help.

I offer tutoring in Psychology, Biology and English Language at GCSE and A-Level, alongside English and general academic support for primary-school pupils. Whether students are preparing for exams, struggling with specific topics, or looking to build confidence, my goal is to make learning engaging, accessible, and rewarding.
