I come from a background of little musicality or familial artistic enthusiasm. Needless to say, before I met Joshua, my sense of rhythm was completely off, and I thought I would never be capable of drumming like my favourite musicians. But gradually, Joshua inculcated in me a sense of music so profound, that within a year of weekly classes with him, drumming became a part of me. His patience, knowledge of music and intimate approach to teaching made the classes extremely engaging and educational. Not only did Joshua teach technical music theory, but he also ensured that I, as a musician, prioritized my love for music above all else. This holistic attitude was what made Joshua a great mentor for me. It's been 5 years since my first drum class with him, and I continue to play the instrument daily, like a truly passionate musician should.
