About Elyshia

I am a doctoral researcher with a strong academic and practical background in business, marketing, management, leadership, education and community development.

I graduated from the University of Salford with a degree in International Events Business Management. I also hold a Level 6 qualification in Management and Leadership and a Master’s in Marketing, and I am currently undertaking my doctorate in Greater Manchester.

My learning has never stopped at university. I continually undertake training and develop new skills across different areas. My wider experience includes fitness, catering, community work, personal development and professional training, alongside many years of practical experience working with people from different backgrounds.

I have supported home-educated learners, college students and undergraduate students, and I have spent many years working with individuals, families, communities and grassroots organisations.

I also have over 30 years of experience advocating for people and supporting them to navigate education and wider systems. This has deepened my knowledge of social impact, community development, confidence-building, motivation, and personal development.

I created and delivered my own Phenomenal Workshop, focused on goal setting, confidence, motivation, mindset and helping people move forward with their personal and professional goals.

As a mother of five who has continued progressing through higher education myself, I understand that the educational journey is not always straightforward. I know what it is like to balance study with real-life responsibilities.

I have also travelled and experienced different environments and communities, which have broadened my perspective on people, organisations and learning.

I am approachable, positive and practical. I believe we are always learning, whatever stage of life we are at, and I bring academic knowledge, professional experience and real-life understanding into the way I support my students.

About the class

Specialising in Business, Marketing, Management & Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Academic Skills, Socioeconomics, Social Impact, Presentations, Public Speaking and Viva Preparation.

My teaching method is simple: I break information down clearly and use real-life examples to help you understand what the theory actually means.

I don’t believe in making learning more complicated than it needs to be. If something doesn’t make sense one way, we’ll find another way to explain it until it clicks.

My lessons are practical, relaxed and adapted to the individual. We can work on understanding theories, breaking down assignment briefs, organising ideas, preparing presentations and vivas, building confidence, and applying what you have learned to real-life situations.

Having been a student for many years myself and a mother of five, I understand that the educational journey is not always straightforward. Sometimes students need more than somebody explaining a textbook — they need encouragement, motivation and someone who understands what it takes to keep going.

My aim is for you to leave the lesson thinking, “I actually understand this now,” and feeling more confident about taking the next step yourself.
