About Lisa
My involvement in sporting clubs sparked my initial interest in teaching. I coached young children in gymnastics and circus skills throughout my school and tertiary studies. Whilst completing my first university degree, I began tutoring school students privately in the Australian and International Baccalaureate curriculums. I was also fortunate to be offered positions teaching music in some of the most respected private schools on the Gold Coast.
I joined a tutoring company in 2015 and it was during these sessions that I discovered my passion for helping students from different cultural backgrounds achieve their potential in all areas of their education. I completed the University of Cambridge ESOL CELTA at International House London to advance my skills in language teaching. I spent the following years working as a live-in English teacher for families in Germany and Russia. I returned home to complete my education degree and qualify as a registered teacher, then worked my way from English Teacher to Director of Studies at a Gold Coast language college. I am now completing my PhD in linguistics and lecturing in the Masters of Speech Pathology at Griffith University, whilst continuing to further develop my skills as an educator.
