About Eiliyah
My name is Eiliyah and I have recently left secondary school with an 8 in English. However, this wasn't easy, I was not a student who was ever able to achieve this before. It took me months of consistent practice and revision to ever even get a grade as good as this. I got 4/5 in my January mocks, this was around 4 months before my actual GCSE examinations and I was so anxious about failing English but I put in lots of effort and efficient revision which helped me to massively improve by a shocking 4 grades higher. When I opened my results envelope I was stunned and cried of happiness - all those difficult months of hard work did reward me. I want other students from a similar previous academic background of mine to also achieve and feel this, that's why I thought of becoming a tutor. Why not help other students achieve massively within a few months and also get the reward of feeling great for them?

As a tutor who is currently studying in sixth form I understand that some may think I am not qualified or 'experienced', however I have accomplished an 8 in GCSE English from a 4/5 in the January mocks. My lessons are targeted to current GCSE students or KS3 students who want to excel and achieve their goals and above in AQA English Literature and Language. Each lesson will be an hour or maybe two depending on both my and my student's timetable, there is a lot of flexibility regarding the time I tutor which I generally sort out with my clients/students. I personally obtained great grades in GCSE English Literature and Language by using various revision methods that got me from a 4 and 5 in the January mock exams to 8. I believe that any student can excel regardless of their academic background as long as they put good, efficient work into their studies. For students I will tutor my lessons for poetry and persuasive creative writing will vary. For specifically the AQA English Literature poetry section (Paper 2), I will use techniques such as blurting, quizzing and retrieval to revise and memorise poetry quotes, contextual information and overall techniques. For AQA English Language Paper 1, I will help students to improve their creative writing skills for the 2nd section of the AQA Paper 1 exam, this will be done by practising alongside the student, creating examples together and learning/revising techniques. For the Language Paper 2 exam I will strengthen my students' skills by making them confident with persuasive writing, this will be done by mostly practising and efficiently creating examples in a way students can understand and apply to their own writing. I use multiple revision and learning techniques depending on the type of student I tutor, however I always recommend the best methods that have worked amazing for me.
