About Ian Eugene
My name is Ian E. Van der Walt, and I am an AFDA film school alumnus. I graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in Motion Picture Medium, with a specialty in screenwriting and directing. I have a complete grasp of screenwriting format and have made three short films, one of which placed fourth in AFDA’s national film festival.

In addition to providing tutorship in screenplay format, I’m also fluent in traditional storytelling structure; though I do not set much store by pedantic adherence to these rules. I prefer to proofread works in progress and guide works in progress to best match the author’s intent. In other words I believe it is better when the student is free to find his own voice.
