-I don't believe in textbook-only teaching. Having spent years in a corporate environment, I know exactly what real-world English looks like — in emails, meetings, presentations, and everyday conversations. So I bring that into every class. I use a mix of role-plays, real-life scenarios, conversation practice, and structured grammar exercises depending on what the student needs. I focus heavily on why something is said a certain way, not just what is correct — because once you understand the logic, you stop forgetting.
- Every class typically begins with a short warm-up — a quick conversation or a question — so the student is speaking from the very first minute, not just listening. Then we move into the main focus of the day, whether that's grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or a skill like email writing or interview prep. The last 10 minutes are always for questions, review, and a small task to practice before the next class. No class ends without the student having something to do before we meet again.
What makes my classes different is my corporate lens. I've lived the difference between textbook English and professional English — and I teach both. I personalise every session based on the student's goal: a school student preparing for exams gets something very different from a professional who wants to sound more confident in meetings. I also focus a lot on confidence — because most people already know more English than they think; they just need a safe space to practise without fear of judgement. That's what I create.
