About Martin
Colombian-American violist Martin Rojas began his musical studies at the age of fourteen with Leonora Karasina of the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Washington DC. The following year Martin was admitted to Peabody Institute's preparatory where he studied with Dr. Christian Tremblay for three years. A lover of chamber music and orchestra, Martin has attended the Aspen Music Festival and School, Domaine Forget, Virtuoso and Belcanto and the Jarna festival academy. Martin has enjoyed the privilege of participating in master classes with Nobuko Imai, Roberto Diaz, and Antoine Tamestit. He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Juilliard String Quartet violist Molly Carr, and New York Philharmonic assistant principal, Cong Wu.

I came to classical music a bit later than most, which has given me a unique perspective on how it’s traditionally taught. Much of my technical development happened during my late teens and early adulthood—a time when many classical musicians have already laid their foundational skills. In my experience, many teaching approaches rely on rigid systems or philosophies that emphasize repetition and tradition. While this can work for some, it often takes a one-size-fits-all approach that doesn't always meet individual needs or learning styles.
