I am a recent graduate of Communication Design specialising in illustration. I am passionate about what I do and eager to pass on the skills and experience I have gained throughout eight years of art and design education.
Out-with education I have done commissions and created my own characters, stories, fan art, using a number of styles with different media and methods.

My lessons are there for anyone who wants to learn the process of comic art and will be at a BA Hons level. This will include the process from start to finish or from wherever you feel your skill set is at. I am an open-minded, understanding, patient person and I want my lessons to be as fun and comfortable as possible as well as productive. I understand that every artist has their own style so we will adapt lessons to it and work towards fine-tuning it, maybe even help you find it.
There are many aspects involved in comic art that I cover including cover art, pages and character design, all with different processes that I'll go over from start to finish. For cover art it will go from layout and composition ideas, sketching, pencilling, inking, and colouring. Page design will have a similar process and also include reading a script, pacing a scene, panel layout and lettering. For character design there will be looking at different body types, facial structure, costume elements, and characteristics then bringing them altogether.
Drawing is an important part so if you feel your skills in it need to be improved to help you in these processes then there will be plenty of tips and exercises leading up to them including looking at anatomy, perspective, textures, shadow/light, and making a scene dynamic.
As a recent graduate, I understand what it's like trying to get in to university so I can also help you on your journey to building a portfolio and applying.
