About Lino
Born and raised in Italy between lake Como and Milan, I did my studies in a very demanding institute in Milan with a 5+1 years program. I then moved to the US in 2005 and consequently learned English as a second language in college.
I have family everywhere in Italy (which I grew up with and visited regularly) and that gives me a leg up when it comes to different Italian accents, dialects and phonetics too.
I have always been big into music and I find it a very useful tool to learn a new language ..learning and translating song lyrics!
I know first hand how challenging it can be to learn a new language (..especially a Latin descended one!) But with my tutoring, some work together and your consistency YOU WILL improve your Italian language skills!

I take a friendly and relaxed approach to tutoring, the learning process is always improved when having fun, or at least when applying the lesson topics to the student's everyday interest. Make it more personalized. First I target what the student goals' are and how to reach them. Then I try to identify what makes the student more at ease while we do the work.
As someone who learned a second language later on in life I really know the initial struggle and how alienating it can feel. I will use all of my tricks to bring the student to improvements with Italian.
My tutoring would be ideal for anyone interested in expertly guided practice (which ultimately is the key to success with any new language). Improve their vocabulary, pronunciation and phonetics, grammar and syntax ..all the way down to understanding song lyrics, slang and the many Italian dialects (more advanced). All this for colloquial, writing and reading.
