About Joanna
With 4 years of experience in Clinical Herbalism and Phytotherapy, I understand the connection between the mind and body from both a Clinical and Holistic perspective.
My primary focus in herbal medicine is treatment and preventative care of illnesses in the mind or body that develop from an unhealthy mind or body; the two are intimately connected. In my experience I have worked with conditions like Bipolar Personality Disorder, HSV, Rheumatism, Covid, Chronic stress and anxiety, PCOS, Menopause, and more.
Client comfortability, respect, integrity and confidentiality is of utmost importance. This requires interpersonal skills and emotional awareness that my students will learn and develop in my classes as well.

As a tutor, I guide students to utilize these skills with a broad perspective; showing how to develop formulas and select ingredients that address the whole body, not just symptoms. I teach how to work with alternative medicine in a way that addresses whole humans and not just their conditions.
My lessons are for beginners or those with no experience at all in herbal medicine. As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand there are different styles of learning and retaining information and so I open space for those with unique minds. Curriculum can be catered to all age groups, from 7 years old to 70 years old.
A typical lesson plan would consist of either an "Herb Of The Day" focus, breaking down the constituents of that herb, how it can be used in both medicine and culinary practice, indications, contraindications, and so on. Students may be given case studies to develop the perspective of how to utilize these herbs as medicine for everyday and unique scenarios. In my lessons, we will learn how to dig deep with compassion and grace to help heal.
