About Lewis
I am about to start my first year of Civil Engineering at a top Russel Group university. I have enjoyed physics throughout my school career. In my higher examinations, I achieved an A1 grade. I have particularly strengthened my understanding in physics through extra curricular activities such as the F1 in schools Engineering competition which increases my understanding of fluid mechanics and dynamics under the umbrella of aerodynamics. I spearheaded my team as project manager and led us to picking up the design and innovation award at the 2020 Scottish Finals. I am incredibly passionate about Physics and it's applications and I want to pass this on to other students.

I would describe my teaching method as informal if only as in I want to focus on building a positive relationship with my student. I believe that if a student associates positive memories with a subject they are more likely to want to spend the time and effort revising the subject in order to get the top grades. The Higher and N5 physics courses are very structured with their separate modules covering different areas of physics. However, I believe it is important to teach many key skills holistically transcending the boundaries of the modules. For example at N5 you learn how to manipulate equations, I would teach my students a process that works for every equation in their data book instead of approaching each equation as it's own unique entity.
