About Igor
My name is Igor and I am a recent graduate of the Northern Illinois University School of Music, where I earned a Master's degree in Music (jazz studies, drums) and worked as an assistant professor. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Music from Benedict College in South Carolina. I was a member of the Percussive Art Society. I won two national prizes in 2007 and 2009 at the National Percussion Competition of Serbia. I performed in various groups including jazz, funk, rock, Classical Orchestra, and Big Band. I played in high caliber orchestras such as the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Serbia, and the National Opera. I also played for 3 years in Columbia, South Carolina with outstanding jazz and funk musicians and performed at the Chicago Jazz Festival with the NIU Big Band. I played in various bands including jazz, funk, rock, classical orchestra and big band. I played in high caliber orchestras such as the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Serbian National Symphony Orchestra and the National Opera. I also played for 3 years in Columbia, South Carolina, with outstanding jazz and funk musicians, and played at the Chicago jazz festival with the NIU Big Band. I have played abroad in exceptional festivals in countries like the United States (for 10 years), Montenegro, Switzerland and South Korea. As one of my idols, Steve Gadd, said, "the adjustments never stop". That's why I tried to stay adaptable to different styles of performance and teaching, while maintaining my "percussion" approach.
