Ishan is a wonderful teacher, I have had the pleasure of learning from him for only the past 12 weeks and my online Elo rating has jumped from the 1350s - 1500. During my captaincy tenur at Kandy YMCA, Ishan was the coach during 2018-2022 period. Kandy YMCA was promoted to top tier division in SL chess. During his tenure, Kandy Y became runners up in 2019 and 4th in 2021. He promoted chess for juniors in Kandy region through YMCA. He's a big facilitator and people manager, well organised and a true professional.
