About Maria
I have been a Spanish teacher for 3 years, and I love what I do. As a non-native Spanish-speaker, I like to make connections between English and Spanish as I teach because it helps to make language learning more approachable. I am also a certified K-4 general education teacher, and I tutor both of those subjects at my current school. I am passionate about students developing high literacy and math skills. I aim to reach students with a friendly, encouraging attitudes towards learning.

Hi! My name is Maria Errico, and I am a current Spanish teacher for students in grades K-8. I am also a certified K-4 general education teacher, and I am excited about the possibility of becoming your tutor!
English/reading and math lessons will involve grade level skills to ensure that students are prepared for the upcoming school year. In our first session, we will discuss strengths and weaknesses in the student's current learning to pinpoint areas for tutoring. From that point, we will use worksheets, index cards, games, stories, and technology to practice those skills.
Spanish lessons are geared towards new language-learners who need encouragement in their new skills. I am also open to more intermediate level Spanish students. I am happy to cater the lessons towards your personal language goals, whether they be in reading, listening, speaking, writing, or culture.
In our sessions for any subject, we will start with a review of our previous lesson. Then, we will introduce the new topic with examples. Finally, students will practice the new skill and apply it to a real-world context. At the end of the session, I will ask students one element they learned and one that they would like to learn next time. For younger learners (or the young at heart), I incorporate games and stories into lessons to add another real-world context to the lessons.
