About Laurel
I am a curious, keen teacher with a BA cum laude in Asian Studies and history from Pomona College, a secondary-level US teaching qualification in English and History and a Master's in Psychology with distinction from the University of Glasgow.
I enjoy supporting others in their personal journeys and foster a growth mindset. I have lived in several East Asian countries (China, Japan and Vietnam), since I majored in Asian History as an undergraduate. I now reside in Scotland.
I have taught students of all ages (primary, secondary and university students) and abilities online and in-person for many years, including neurodivergent language learners. I am confident I can help meet your language-learning goals.

I have helped students earn admission to top schools in the US (Ivy and peers) and abroad, and I gain a lot of satisfaction in seeing students progress in their individual development, whether through demonstrated results in standardized tests, quantifiable improvements in language ability or being able to read and understand media in the source language.
In my spare time, I like cooking, exploring art and cinema, reading, running and writing.
