I focus on active learning rather than just lecturing. I use a mix of Problem-Based Learningand the Socratic Method asking guided questions to help students arrive at solutions themselves. For complex concepts, I use visual aids and real-world analogies to make abstract ideas more concrete and memorable.
The Usual Structure of a Class
The Hook (5-10 mins): A quick review or a "brain teaser" related to the day's topic to get everyone focused.
Core Instruction (20-25 mins): Interactive explanation of the new concept with live examples.
Guided Practice (15 mins): Students work through problems or tasks while I provide immediate feedback.
Wrap-up (5 mins): A summary of key takeaways and a preview of the next session.
I am known for being patient and adaptable. I understand that every student learns differently, so I often provide "differentiated tasks" to match different skill levels. I also emphasize exam strategy and time management, helping students build the confidence they need for high-stakes testing.
