About Ismarika
Around 3 years of experience in one-to-one tutoring for maths, english and science up to GCSEs as well as biology upto a-levels. As someone who has recently been through similar exams and still currently studying, your child will feel more comfortable around me as I can relate with them more easily. Also, my experience as a young graduate means that I can teach new innovative learning techniques, with a better understanding of the exam syllabus than other tutors.

My teaching method is encouraging the student to think about why certain things are the way they are and I use the “scaffolding” technique. This is when I make the students understand the basic concepts and help them build-up from their previous knowledge to understand more complex concepts. This ensures that they secure all the marks for different topics as all examinations test a students ability to grasp easy and difficult concepts. As someone who is very keen and passionate about maths and science, I try to evoke this passion amongst my students. I find that students achieve stronger marks when they develop a genuine love for the subject. I believe in guiding them through this and making the students feel comfortable to discuss the topic in more detail until they fully grasp it. Also, making the student comfortable means that they are able to properly address their academic concerns.
