About Sofia
I’m Sofía, a musician, composer, and emerging artist based in Los Angeles. I also create and perform under my artist project, Sol Castell.
I studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I not only deepened my musical skills but also discovered my passion for teaching and sharing music with others. I believe every student has a unique voice that deserves to be heard and developed.
My goal as a teacher is to help you find your voice, build confidence, and grow as an artist—while making the process enjoyable and meaningful, no matter where you are in your musical journey.

My Teaching Approach
As a Berklee College of Music graduate and artist, I bring real industry experience into every lesson. My teaching style is personal, goal-oriented, and adaptable. No two students are the same, and neither are my classes.
Teaching Method
I build a strong foundation while keeping lessons fun and relevant to each student's interests. Always connecting theory to practice so skills can be applied immediately.
A Typical Lesson
Each session starts by reviewing progress and setting a goal. We then work through technique, repertoire, or creative exercises, and close with a clear practice plan for the week.
What Sets Me Apart
I've been through the process myself, from Berklee to performing and producing original music. I don't just teach concepts, I share what actually works in the real industry. For Berklee audition students, I guide every step with firsthand experience.
Who This Is For
All ages, all levels. From complete beginners to students ready to audition for conservatories. I teach in English and Spanish, online or in person. Whatever your goal, I'll meet you where you are and take you where you want to go.
