About Yuzu

【Beginners welcome!】Hello! I'm Hideki, friendly tutor offering personalised and interactive lessons from beginner to advanced. I was born and raised in Japan, graduated with a degree in Tokyo and London and currently working in the UK!

I've had the joy of teaching Japanese to my foreign friends, helping them become fluent when I was a student—so I've got plenty of experience making learning fun and effective for all levels! I'm passionate about sharing the Japanese language and culture with others.

Whether you're a beginner just starting out, interested in Japanese culture, or looking to improve your language skills, I'm here to help. I'm excited to get to know you and help you to speak Japanese fluently.

Let's start this journey of learning Japanese together!

About the class

I have plenty of experience teaching Japanese from beginner to advanced — I helped my British friends pass JLPT and become fluent! My lessons are interactive and tailored to your interests and goals.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to polish your skills, we'll focus on practical conversation, reading, and writing. We'll also dive into Japanese culture to make learning enjoyable and meaningful.

【Textbook】I usually use the Genki / Quartet textbook, but feel free to let me know if you prefer a different approach or textbook.

I'm excited to support you on your journey to learn Japanese!

Perfect! From the very first lesson Hideki created a very welcoming and friendly environment. He was quickly able to assess the level I was at and created a plan of action for our lessons going forwards.

He instilled a lot of confidence in my learning journey and I'm sure that with his kind help and expertise I'll be able to fulfil my goal of becoming more confident with my Japanese speaking and listening skill.

I'm very grateful to Hideki and would recommend his services to anyone from absolute beginner to someone who wishes to polish their already existing skills.
