About Jasmine
I have worked as a dual language educator who teaches in both Spanish and English, and I currently work as an ESL teacher for a primarily Dominican student population. I have taught ages pre-K through 12 and I absolutely adore it. Learning languages has opened up opportunities in unexpected places! I also deeply appreciate using my languages to communicate when I travel to other countries, as it shows me the ways I can connect socially (not just applied to academics).

When studying a new language, full immersion can be helpful. However, I also believe in ensuring understanding in addition to the immersion. Fortunately, English and Spanish share many cognates (words that sound the same and have the same definition), so full immersion is not as difficult for students new to Spanish.
A typical lesson plan would consist of review from the previous day, a mini lesson focusing on one of the key aspects (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), practice together, and individual practice.
I have worked with a great deal of Spanish-speaking students from a variety of countries (Colombia, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, and more).
I can teach Elementary Spanish up to any college-level Spanish course in terms of fluency and knowledge of the content.
