My approach combines strong subject knowledge with a genuine passion for making learning enjoyable and accessible to every learner. As a tutor, my approach focuses on creating a supportive learning environment that is adapted to each student's needs. I use a mix of traditional and modern teaching techniques such as real-world examples and past paper questions to simplify complex topics and improve retention.
My methods encourage active participation and understanding rather than
memorising (which we see often in pupils). My lessons usually span 60 minutes although this is completely in the hands of the student. A typical lesson with me will look like: 1. 10 minutes to review the previous week's content/homework. 2. 20 minutes of teaching a new topic following the National Curriculum/Exam Board Specification. 3. 25 minutes applying the teaching through supported and independent practice questions. 4. 5 minutes for reviewing and providing parents with feedback on the session.
