About Sebastian

I am a certified teacher by the Florida Department of Education and have been an IB and AP Physics instructor at Stanton College Preparatory School for the past 5 years. I am an enthusiastic and animated teacher with a passion for knowledge. I started tutoring physics and astronomy to university/college students when I was in the third year of my Bachelor of Physics. Teaching has been a rewarding process for me and I hope to continue to help students achieve their full potential.

About the class

My classes are designed for high school students, college students, students of preparatory classes, and science students. The subjects I teach are mainly physics, mathematics, engineering, and astronomy. My teaching methods tend to be a mix of inquiry-based, constructivist, and teacher-centered instruction. My lessons are supported by a Socratic undertone and are designed to give students the cognitive skills they need to become better learners.

From personal experience in collaboration as a TA, Sebastian always showed an eagerness to teach. He would make sure that not only were students acknowledging the concepts they don't fully understand but also knowing what questions they would need to ask to receive the proper help required. That is something that will not only help in classes but also help in their future academic and professional careers. As a teacher, it's not only about giving information and answering questions, but also providing the tools for students to know the right questions to ask.

Sebastian is diligent, flexible, versatile, and organized; all of these traits extended towards the students to provide a comfortable and friendly environment to help with students from all backgrounds to feel safe in asking any range of pertinent questions, from simple to advanced.
