About Marilyn
I'm a Cree descendant from Treaty 8 territory in northern Alberta, Canada. As a student at the Red Deer Polytechnic in Central Alberta, I earned my Visual Arts Diploma in the spring of 2023 receiving many scholarships and awards from various donators. After graduation, I saved the money and opened my home studio in June 2024 that I named "Mother Earth Ceramic Studio". Since then I have been working on my skill and professional profile. Now I am ready to share this information with individuals that can't afford or don't have the desire to go to college.

As an Indigenous person from Treaty 8 territory with my Visual Arts Diploma, I teach very basic knowledge on clay, hand-building, throwing on a wheel, electric kiln operation, and information needed for these processes. Once we have an understanding of the clay, its components, the hazards, drying stages, firing temps, kiln operations, kiln care, and shelf care, we get our hands dirty build!
