About Roman
I earned a 170 on the LSAT on my first attempt before attending law school and earning my J.D. I subsequently passed both the New York and California bar examinations on my first attempt, and I am a licensed New York and California attorney. Before law school, I graduated magna cum laude and competed as a member of one of the nation’s top collegiate debate teams. The same tirelessness that let me achieve each of those goals can be directed towards helping you improve.
My professional background includes legal practice, research, writing, and advocacy, as well as selection for several competitive fellowship programs. That experience has required me to analyze complicated arguments, communicate them clearly, and meet demanding professional standards.
As a tutor, I bring those same standards to my work with students. I come prepared, take your goals seriously, and give you straightforward feedback about both what you are doing well and where you need to improve. I don’t believe in forcing every student through the same method. I want to understand where you are, what’s getting in your way, and what kind of help will actually move you forward.
I also pay attention to the part of test preparation that isn’t captured by a score report. Anxiety, perfectionism, frustration, and loss of confidence can turn knowledge into poor performance. I help students build habits for staying composed under pressure, breaking out of unproductive thought patterns, and recovering quickly when a question or practice test goes badly. I can help you sharpen your study habits, push back against procrastination and help keep you grounded in the right mentality.
My goal isn’t simply to raise your score or polish an application. It’s to help you understand what you’re doing, become more confident doing it, and make the law school admissions process feel less overwhelming and more like a task you can finish with the peace of mind of knowing you did your best.
