About Jarmo
As a child, I was able to enjoy very much enjoying drawing and painting at my local cultural center. Years later I wonder myself, how it would be to help such children with the same interest to develop themselves. I am now almost graduated at the art academy AKI ArtEZ in Enschede, at the applied art course 'Art & Crossmedia Design' with a social-design project, against pest problems among young people by means of self-defense (based on Vijf-Dieren-Zuidstijl Kungfu & Chinese Sanda -kickboxing). I also have an interest in sustainability (also 'hot' in social design) and I did a 1-to-1 internship at a leading cartoon artist in Amsterdam, as well as being a graphic designer at Stichting Sheltersuit in Enschede. Before I started at this academy, during my last two years I did pre-university education, first an orientation course (ArtEZ Arnhem) and then a preparatory course (AKI ArtEZ Enschede). In addition, Drawing (and Art History) was included in my package as a final examination subject. I could therefore guide pupils, including their transition to something like an Art Academy. Giving tutoring in the creative areas of high school such as Drawing / Art, CKV, Handicraft (although I have to admit that I am not a craftsman in heart and soul, I admit) or any other (Media) design, seems to be fun to do . The concept and self-reflection development is at the top. By looking at the assignments or fully-self-initiated projects of high school students (VMBO, HAVO, VWO) or HBO / WO students, as an independent sparring partner. Thinking through concepts and brainstorming and analyzing together I offer through this advertisement.

I want to be as independent as possible for other creative thinkers and creators. During my training I noticed that this can be very helpful and can 'speed up' your process. My teachers also agreed, especially when they talked about the other activities in their creative career. Because I am a student myself, I can fully empathize with the mindset of pupils / students / young entrepreneurs. Honestly, I have no experience with 'teaching', I see this more as helping each other gain inspiration and having fun in being creative, by using a personal approach in contact. I see myself more as a free adviser than as a 'teacher'.
