Greetings! My name is Don Brightson, an advanced chess player currently pursuing a degree in engineering. With a deep love for the game and a desire to assist beginners in their chess journey, I am dedicated to helping individuals improve their skills and reach their dreams. As an experienced chess player, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide beginners on their path to chess mastery. With a professional approach and a commitment to excellence, I am here to support and mentor students as they navigate the fascinating world of chess. Together, we will embark on a transformative learning experience, unlocking your potential and helping you achieve your goals in the game of chess.

About the class

Welcome to my chess classes tailored specifically for beginners!

Teaching Techniques and Methods:
In my lessons, I employ a dynamic and interactive teaching approach that combines visual aids, interactive online platforms, and practical exercises to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the game. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand ideas, allowing beginners to grasp the fundamentals of chess with confidence. Through a step-by-step approach, I introduce basic tactics, strategic thinking, and opening principles, gradually building a solid foundation in chess.

The Usual Structure of a Class:
Each class begins with a brief recap of previously learned concepts, reinforcing knowledge and setting the stage for new material. I provide clear explanations and demonstrations of moves and strategies using virtual chessboards or video lessons, ensuring maximum visibility and understanding. Engaging practice games, puzzles, and quizzes are incorporated to allow students to apply their newfound knowledge and enhance their skills. Additionally, students have the opportunity to analyze their own games, receive personalized feedback, and continuously improve their play.

Special Features as a Teacher:
My passion for chess is contagious, and I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment. As a patient and dedicated instructor, I make it a priority to adapt my teaching methods to suit each student's unique learning style and pace. By fostering a love for the game and providing individualized attention, I help students build confidence, overcome challenges, and unlock their full potential in chess. Furthermore, my commitment to ongoing professional development ensures that I stay up-to-date with the latest strategies and instructional techniques, delivering the most effective and engaging lessons.

For Whom the Classes are Intended:
These classes are designed for beginners of all ages, including children, teenagers, and adults. No prior knowledge of chess is necessary, making the lessons accessible to absolute beginners who are eager to embark on their chess journey. Whether you are a young enthusiast or an adult looking to learn a new skill, my classes will provide you with a solid foundation in chess and equip you with the tools to enjoy the game and continue your chess growth.
