• 1. When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field? *

  I really took up accounting because of my mom. She finished a degree in Liberal Arts and Commerce but was not able to pursue becoming a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines. So I told myself, one day I will fulfill that dream and now, here I am. I already am a CPA in PH and about to get my CPA as well here in Canada.

• 2. What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I have always loved numbers. I think ever since I was a kid I get excited to solve problems. Although I would say accounting is no way all about math, but solving problems is definitely there. In addition, along the way in my professional journey, I found that companies and businesses really need strong finance and accounting personnel to really make it to the top. ahaving said that, my aspiration is to help the businessworld by helping students become good accountants in the future.

• 3. What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  It has always been also my dream to teach. In fact, I took my master’s degree mainly to give me enough credentials to be able to teach in the university. I think by imparting my knowledge to the younger generation, I am making a difference in the world while also doing what I love most - accounting.

• 4. Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Yes, definitely. In my life, I am blessed enough to have mentors who in one way or another, influenced me. One of them is my high school teacher, Miss Ness. I will never forget that I have always challenged what she was teaching us and she always met me with such wisdom that I have learned a lot from her. I wanted to be the kind of teacher that she is and hopefully, I will find more students who will also challenge me make me the best accounting teacher there is.

• 5. What are your keys to success?

  Passion and perseverance. If you are passionate about something, that will not be enough. You have to work for it - hone your knowledge and practice well so you can get to the top.
