About Yuan

I’m Yuan, a GAMSAT tutor and undergraduate researcher in the Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) program at the Australian National University (ANU). I conducted research in the Spry and Saliba Groups, focusing on literature tuberculosis research and antimalarial drug discovery through metabolic pathway inhibition. At the end of my own GAMSAT journey, I achieved a 99 (highest score) in Section III during the March 2025 sitting — placing me in the top tier of candidates for reasoning in the biological and physical sciences. Alongside my research, I bring over 5 years of tutoring experience in HSC Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, where I specialize in helping students not only excel in high school but also translate those analytical skills into the GAMSAT. My teaching focuses on bridging content mastery with reasoning strategies: breaking down complex passages, applying scientific principles efficiently, and training students to think under exam pressure. With a proven record of both academic achievement and teaching experience, I aim to help students build the confidence, precision, and problem-solving mindset required to maximize their GAMSAT performance.
