About

I enjoy working with students and helping them feel more confident with math. When I switched from engineering to education in college, my goal was always to be a middle school math teacher. I achieved my goal and taught 5-8 grade math for 35 years in the East China School District. My highest compliment was from an administrator who shared that I was known for taking students farther in math than any teacher in my district. Early in my career, I earned my Masters in the Art of teaching Mathematics. For years I lead after school “Math Camps” where I worked with students needing extra support. I have also spent years private tutoring students in the Utica, Romeo, and East China School District. I have been trained in teaching Mathematics Expressions, which is the math program utilized by many local school districts including Utica and East China. My aim is to lessen math anxiety and to build confidence in my students ability to tackle math. I retired this past June, so my schedule is pretty open. Let me know if I can help.
