About Alishba
I am currently studying Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto, one of Canada’s most competitive and highly-ranked research universities. My academic program involves rigorous coursework in areas such as algorithm design, data structures, probability, statistical inference, and computational problem solving. Through this training, I have gained strong analytical reasoning and technical skills, as well as a deep understanding of how to break down complex problems into manageable steps. My name is Alishba, and my goal as a tutor is to make learning clear, engaging, and confidence-building for every student. As a Computer Science and Statistics student at the University of Toronto, I focus on helping students truly understand concepts instead of just memorizing steps.
My teaching approach is student-centered and adapted to each learner’s pace and goals. I begin by identifying areas of strength and difficulty, then explain topics in simple, relatable ways. I use real-life examples, visual aids, and step-by-step breakdowns to make challenging concepts easier to grasp. For coding, I emphasize hands-on practice and problem-solving, so students learn by doing.
A typical lesson starts with a brief review of previous material, followed by an introduction to new concepts. I explain the topic clearly, work through examples with the student, and then guide them through practice questions. I encourage students to ask questions at any time and regularly check their understanding. Each session ends with a short summary and optional practice to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong academic background in both computer science and statistics, combined with my ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms.
