About Phoebe
Hi there!
My name is Phoebe, and I am currently a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Edinburgh. As I reflect on my educational journey, I have come to appreciate the tremendous value that my high school subjects have provided me in pursuing further education. Now, I am eager to share my knowledge and expertise with students who were once in the same position as I was just a few years ago.
Looking back on my own experiences, I have come to realize that the challenge lies not in whether one can learn something, but rather in how one can effectively learn it. With suitable learning techniques and support, I believe that each student has the potential to grasp any subject.
Through my own academic journey and personal growth, I have acquired valuable insights into effective learning strategies and methods that have helped me succeed. I am enthusiastic about passing on this knowledge and helping students navigate their educational paths with confidence and clarity.

Lessons are one hour long and aimed at a National5/GCSE level. Each session explores one subject topic in depth and addressing the particular understanding gaps of the student. The session begins by consulting the student on areas they would like to consolidate, followed by teaching the identified topics. The majority of the session is dedicated to exam methods and questions.
I have previous experience in mentoring younger students through the 'humanutopia' program, in which I participated for a year. Personally, I have studied Maths, Physics, and English at both National 5 and Higher levels, achieving all As in these subjects. I have succesfully utilized this knowledge to excel at Edinburgh University, where I have just completed my second year of Mechanical Engineering.
