About Gabe
Hi, I'm Gabe. I am a 2022 Graduate who achieved First Class Honours in a Masters of Civil Engineering from the University of Sheffield. I studied Maths, Economics and Physics at A-Level, where I achieved A*AB respectively, including 100% SCORES in 3 of the 6 A-Level Maths exams. I have also completed maths modules every year at university, which has further strengthened and improved my knowledge in the subject. I have studied lots of the relevant maths material very recently, therefore, I still possess the relevant knowledge and attributes required to achieve top grades.

My past tutoring experience includes assisting GCSE students in my school whilst I was completing my A-levels. More recently, I have helped first and second year civil engineering students at the University of Sheffield during tutorial sessions, where I assisted them in solving both mathematical and engineering problems.
Lessons will typically be one hour, but can be longer if requested by the student. Achieving top grades is largely due to effectively using the skills and tricks available to solve mathematical problems. One of my main priorities will be to assist students to think in a ‘mathematical way’, so that they can approach exam questions and use their knowledge to answer the question in a range of different ways, rather than relying upon remembering a particular method to answer questions. I will transfer this knowledge to students through a range of techniques, depending on their level of understanding of a particular topic. I will provide simple explanations of topics and how to solve problems, following this up with worked examples and practice questions for students to complete. I will also spend every session addressing exam questions to ensure that students are fully prepared and confident before exams begin.
