Guitar Classes Near Me in Kharagpur

Every guitarist starts with a small set of open chords that form the backbone of the instrument.

• G major: an open chord every beginner should learn early — it sounds full and rich straight away.
• C major: a foundational chord that pairs beautifully with G and Am in progressions.
• D major: easy to form and instantly recognisable, often one of the first chords new players learn.
• A minor: the go-to minor chord for beginners — it adds an emotional, reflective quality to any progression.

Once you can switch between these four chords smoothly, you can play the vast majority of beginner songs.

Getting started on guitar the right way means building solid technique before moving on to complex songs.

• Posture and hand position: proper fretting-hand technique — fingertips on strings, thumb behind the neck — builds the foundation for everything else.
• Open chords first: start with G, C, D, and Am before attempting barre chords or scales — these shapes are the building blocks of most songs.
• Daily short practice sessions: practising for 15–20 minutes every day is far more effective than one long session per week.
• Learning songs you enjoy: applying new chords and techniques to songs you love keeps motivation high and makes practice feel rewarding.

With the right guidance, most beginners are playing their first full songs within just a few weeks.
