The universe is filled with a lot of mysteries. But, it can be boondoggle if one wants to unravel all of them. All these mysteries of the universe have various concepts involved in them. Some of the primary parts of these mysteries are Physics, Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Kinematics, Gravitation and many more. All these elements along with various others constitute the universe. We have come a lot far from what we knew but we have a lot more to learn from this universe. And moreover, if we talk about the secret of the universe that why it is the way it is. We need to take a look at the various forces that bind it together.
This article will explore some of those forces that bind the various aspects of the universe together. We will take a look at some of the topics related to forces in physics. Along with this, we will also take a quick glance at the introductory physics topics. But before that, let’s take a brief look at some of the topics that we are going to cover here in this article.
Some Of The Forces Of Basic Physics
The subject of Physics is full of interesting and jaw-dropping concepts. There are various interesting topics in physics like electricity and magnetism, astrophysics, special relativity, particle physics, nuclear physics and many more. These are a bit wide topics to discuss but here are the forces that are a part of physics. Study the concepts of electricity here.
We have all played with magnets when we were kids, right. But, if we talk about magnets, now. There are many concepts that come into the picture. Some of the most necessary topics in the Magnetism part are:
Magnetic field and field lines
To understand this, take a magnet and place it on a flat surface. Now, throw some iron filings on the surface. You will observe that iron filling gets attracted to the poles of the magnet. Thus, they form a pattern around the magnet. The pattern that is formed is the area where the influence of the magnet can be felt. The arrangement of the iron fillings around the magnet in the form of circular lines and those are known as the magnetic field lines. The force that keeps them near the magnet is called a magnetic force. The magnetic field is a vector quantity with both magnitude and direction.
Along with this, the direction of magnetic field lines is from north to south outside the magnet. Also, the strength of the magnetic field is decided by the close of the magnetic field lines. Hence, the first force of class 10 physics is the magnetic force. Learn more about the waves here.
Magnetic field due to an electric current-carrying conductor
Now, we know how the magnetic field behaves in the case of a bar magnet. But, there are may other conductors that change the magnetic field. Let’s take a look at some of those conductors of modern physics.
- Magnetic Field due to current through a straight conductor.
This part includes the right-hand thumb rule. As per this rule, if you hold a straight conductor in your right hand, the folding of your hands around the conductor gives you the direction of the magnetic field lines.
- Magnetic Field due to a Current through a Circular Loop
The direction of the magnetic field varies on the different sections of the circular conductor. And this is also an important point to note that the number of turn of the circular conductor also increases the magnetic field.
- Magnetic Field due to a Current in a Solenoid
A Solenoid is a cylindrical shaped coil conductor made by multiple turns of insulated copper wire. The arrangement is made such that one end of the solenoid behaves as the north pole, and the other end is called the south pole. And in this way, a solenoid also behaves like a bar magnet.
- Force due to a current-carrying conductor
Finally, we are at the discussion of forces. Now, the current-carrying conductor exerts a force on the magnet ket near it. As per newton’s third law of motion, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. And hence, the magnet also exerts a force on the conductor.
One can easily find out about the direction of force using Fleming’s left-hand rule. As per the rule, if you place your index finger, middle finger and thumb mutually perpendicular to each other. The thumb will give you the direction of the motion whereas the index and middle finger will provide you the direction of the field and current respectively.
Take classes on Physics practical class 12.
Well, not on a wide and detailed scale, but gravitation is also a part of class 10 physics. Though, you might already have an idea about gravitation from your previous standard.
The basic law of gravity is Newton’s law of gravitation, according to this law, Every object in the universe attracts every other object with a force which is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. The force is along the line joining the centers of two objects.
The mathematical formula of this is as follows: F x d2 = G x M x m
The concept of the buoyant force is also covered under the topic of gravitation of class 10 physics. And to keep it simple and straight forward, the upward force that acts upon the object by the water or any other fluid is called a buoyant force. It can also be referred to as Buoyancy. Hence, we have two more forces in the list, Gravitational force and Bouyant force.

This is one of the most important forces that will be referred to a little in class 10 physics. Have you ever wondered why you are able to walk so easily without slipping? All that makes you walk easily on the ground or any surface is the frictional force
To be a bit specific about its definition, the frictional force is the force that resists relative motion between two solid objects, or fluids. The funny thing about frictional force is that it always acts against the motion. You might have heard that pulling is always better than pushing. This is because when we push, one component of force adds up with the weight. This is absent if you pull something. Hence, it is easy to pull something as compared to push. Frictional force is also a part of the class 10 physics courses.
Centripetal and Centrifugal Force
These two forces are related to each other in a brilliant way. How?
The centripetal force is a force that keeps the moon rotating around the earth. It is a force of attraction that earth applies on the moon and moon rotates around it. In the absence of this force, the moon would follow a linear motion while making a tangent to the surface of the earth.
On the other hand, the centrifugal force is a fictitious force that always acts away from the center of the circle in which the object is rotating. This force acts due to the factor of inertia. Just like when the bus turns right, your body goes left.
All these are some of the forces that are a part of class 10 physics. Along with these, there would be many more topics like angular momentum, kinetic energy, electromagnetism, electric energy, work-energy, and others. All these will include these forces at some point. Hence, it is very crucial to have good knowledge about them. Now for knowing them properly, you need to study them timely and repeatedly. Study the concept of electromagnetism here.
