Individuals with a keen understanding and grasp of the complexities of humanities and the social aspect of human life often tend to choose a career in the field of law.

To many with a lack of better knowledge of the field and its scope, it is a natural assumption that a career in law means a professional life that revolves around the courtroom. This is not the case, students who pursue law have a wide variety of career options to pick and choose from.

The law degree they worked for can get them not only the knowledge of lawyers and other legal officers but they also have the opportunity to choose to be a part of any other field that requires the much-needed assistance of the legal army, be it media, corporate businesses, politics and many more. However, it all depends on the research and hard work one does to be able to achieve success in any career path.

Many a time, students with the potential and skill to excel in the field are unable to shine and soar simply because they did not have the right guidance and resources. It is very important to find law teachers that conduct law classes that would help pave the way for the students in overcoming the obstacles of lack of academic guidance. Now with the modern online means, one can easily find and join law classes that are not only authentic and reliable but also cater to the students in the best ways possible.

The word equity is a term that is derived from the Latin dictionary which essentially means justice and equal rights for everyone that is, egalitarianism. Equity as given meaning under the legal system of India is a legal framework that originally originated from the times of the English Chancery. Traces of its origin and function in India have been noted since the Smritis of the Hindu period.

As the law and its practice evolved, equity as a type and branch of law is now referred to as the rules and remedies that surface when the administration of justice is in the process but areas of certain cases and issues are not covered under the written statute. This is where equity comes into play, filling the gap in the already written and codified laws of the legal system in order to grant complete justice to those who seek it.

Equity Under the Legal System of India

In order to authenticate and justify certain aspects of equity in law functioning alongside the Common law, certain general principles of equity were defined as maxims and important acts were laid down as part of the legal framework.

Given below are the Acts that were passed and officially accepted into the legal statute:

  •  The Specific Relief Act, 1877
  •  The Indian Trusts Act, 1882
  •  The Transfer of Property Act,1882
  •  The Indian Succession Act,1925

To conclude, it can be said that laws relating to equity are modified and evolve based on incidents and precedents with the sole intention of granting equitable rights and solutions to the affected parties. Equity in law is applied and put in use to deal with the rigidity and inflexible nature of law and the statute law is applied when equity seems to be lacking. Thus both equity and law are integral to attain justice.

What is Corporate Law?

A branch of law that is focused on the governance, formation and operation of corporate firms can be termed as corporate law. Company law came into being in order to define a structural framework and control mechanism. To ensure that all actions within the company, be it a partnership or joint-stock or even sole proprietorship are within legal boundaries and regulated properly.

The legal aspect of the company is handled by the legal team of corporate lawyers and officers. It is a very integral part of any corporate organizations originating in the nation or in international nations. Knowledge and remedies that are associated with the principles of corporate law and the nature and principles of a company as a separate entity is the basis of what company law deals with.
