Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)CBSE is the most popular examination board of India that has more than 19,000 affiliated schools in India. Not only this, but CBSE also has a presence in over 21 countries with 141 affiliated schools in them. CBSE focuses on providing the students with a stress free learning experience along with awesome examination preparation. The CBSE department of education prepares the students for medical and engineering examination of the future. It also offers the students to focus on extracurricular activities. The examination information related to CBSE includes two types of examination namely All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) for Class 10 and All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class 12. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE-ICSE)

ICSE or CISCE is the privately-held national level board of school education in India. With many of the schools in the country, CISCE also conducts secondary school examinations that are of three types. The three types of CISCE examinations are named the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE –Class X); The Indian School Certificate (ISC - ClassXII) and the Certificate in Vocational Education (CVE - Year 12). The examination is held at the selected examination center and as per the examination schedule. 

Unlike CBSE, the syllabus of the ICSE board is a lot different and comprehensive. The motive of the ICSE education program is to develop the candidate on an overall basis rather than just learning subjects. There is a diversity of subjects for the candidates to choose from including subjects related to music, dance, languages. In language, Engish is the primary language that ICSE focuses on. The board focusses on practical knowledge of the student along with building analytical skills.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate school examination and teaching focus on preparing the candidates for the international level. Yeah, the examination board focuses on various other disciples apart from just developing the candidates intellectually. The key focus elements of the International Baccalaureate program are Analytical skill development, language, creative arts, and humanities.

Though it is a bit expensive, it does provide world-class learning opportunities to the candidates. The examination timetable of the IB program includes exams for Primary years (KG to 5th standard), Middle Years (6th-10th standard) and the Diploma years program (11th-12th standard). 

State Boards Examination

These examinations are conducted by all the state boards in the respective states of the country. The syllabus of these examinations is very less and narrow as compared to the other boards in the country. This is why they train the students to gain only intellectual knowledge at the local level. They provide opportunities for competing in the local state medical and engineering examinations. The books referred to in this board for teaching and conducting examination sessions are of NCERT.  The two major examinations conducted at the state level are Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam for class 10 and the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams for class 12.

Which one is better?

Although, all of them have their own pros and cons if we see. In the end, it all comes down to your preferences and future planning. With boards like CBSE and State, the scope is very less but not that less, you can easily get college admissions bypassing the college level examination program. On the other hand, if you have that amount of money to invest in the CISCE and IB program and want to increase your scope of studying. You can go for that also. It has added pros like you will be able to study abroad with ease after studying ad clearing the examination from an international school. There are many IB and CISCE institutions in the country that offer world-class education facilities to the students both nationals and foreigners. Hence, make your choice wisely, if you want to explore the opportunities of the world go for IB school. On the other hand, if you want to serve the country while living here, go for CBSE or State Board.
