About João Raphael
I started studying English 14 years ago. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to share what I learned. I have been teaching English for 7 years, as I believe that everyone is capable of speaking English with confidence! This conviction led me to teach in the most diverse contexts, from schools to companies, with children, young people, adults and adults 60+. Also, this conviction led me to specialize myself more and more. I a chieved a degree in English and Portuguese Literature at the University of São Paulo (USP). I achieved IELTS certificates, at level C1, and Cambridge Proficiency, at level C2 (the highest a non-native speaker can reach). And I worked and studied in Canada, at Concordia University of Edmonton.
For me, teaching is a great exchange. What I learn, I teach. And what I teach, I learn. I love teaching and learning from people!

Over more than 7 years as an English teacher, I have developed a teaching method based on kindness, exchange and excellence. As much as English is a necessity in today's world, many people feel that they will never learn the language. This is not true. Everyone, of all ages and places, can speak English! In order to accomplish that, students need classes that are adapted to their own interests and goals, so that learning is productive and fun. Throughout my years as a teacher, I have taught from children to people over 60, in different contexts such as formal schools and language schools, companies and associations, online and in person. I use materials from distinguishable institutions such as Cambridge and Pearson, combined with video, music and literature materials. I guide students to achieve certificates such as IELTS and Cambridge, which I have already achieved. And I share my journey working and studying in Canada.
