Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga is a practice that originated in an ancient manuscript, Yoga Korunta, which contains series of Asanas grouped and various teachings about Bandhas, Drishtis, Mudras and more. This practice is characterized, above all, by the coordination of movements with breathing (Vinyasa), since each movement has an exact count and breathing, namely Ujjayi breathing, is very important throughout the practice. In addition to Ujjayi breathing, we also have control of the Bandhas, which is very important so that the breathing is indeed correct and for the Asanas to fulfill their benefits and also Drishtis, which is our eye focus at home Asana. The Ashtanga Yoga practice system consists of 6 sets, before which Surya Namaskara A and B is always performed and a standing sequence. The following sequences are the primary series, the intermediate series, the advanced series A, the advanced series B and the advanced series C and D, followed by the final Asanas.
Hatha Yoga
In Hatha Yoga, HA means the Sun, our right side, our masculine side and our soul; THA means the Moon, our left side, the feminine side and our mind. The combination of these two HA + THA = Hatha means that this practice is the search for the balance between our Solar and Lunar side. One of the main characteristics of this practice is mindfulness of the action we are taking. It then means that when we are doing an Asana or Pranayama, we must be fully focused on all phases of each exercise. Whoever created Yoga is said to be the first Yogi (Adiyogi) Shiva. Shiva is known as the destroyer, the transformer, the one who destroys to build something new. For this reason, the creation of Yoga, which is a practice of physical, spiritual, mental and emotional transformation, is attributed to him. The first series taught in Hatha Yoga is Pawanmuktasana. This series is one of the most important and the one that brings us a deep knowledge of the body and mind. For this reason, this series has 3 groups:
1. Anti-rheumatic
2. Digestive / abdominal
3. Shakti Bandha (exercises against blocking energy in the body)
Yin Yoga
The practice of Yin Yoga is based on the Taoist principles of Yin and Yin Yang, with Yin being the most stable, unchanging and downward energy side, and Yang the one that is constantly moving and developing and with upward energy. In our body, our tendons and ligaments are considered Yin and the most mobile parts of our body are considered Yang. In Yin Yoga, we remain in more stable and calm positions, in sitting or lying positions and with slow, effortless and calm movements. This type of yoga focuses more on connective or connecting tissues (the tissues responsible for connecting, joining and protecting other tissues - tendons, fascia and ligaments), rather than focusing on muscles (Yang practices). A restructuring practice that maintains the positions for a period of time from 2 to 20 minutes and without the use of muscles, so that the tissues are then stretched. This type of Yoga happens more on the floor and in seated postures, because this allows the muscles of the body to relax more.
Meditation
Meditation is an increasingly common practice for more people and cultures. It is a time when the being is ready to train his mind and induce a process of consciousness to achieve liberation and a supreme state of well-being. Nowadays, meditation is widely used as an instrument of relaxation and as a form of rest. The benefits of this practice are many, such as: - clearing our mind - increasing our compassion and self-love - increasing clarity and concentration - inducing relaxation - increasing happiness We will practice various forms of meditation, some:
- Meditation Insight
- Mindfulness
- Yoga Nidra
- Tratka
Breathing exercises Pranayama
Pranayama comes from the junction of Prana + Ayama Prana = vital energy Ayama = expansion of energy to all parts of our body A practice of Pranayama is "divided" into 4 stages:
- Pooraka (Poorak): inspiration
- Rechaka (Rechak): Exhalation
- Antar Kumbhaka: holding the air inside the lungs
- Bahir Kumbhaka: holding the air outside the lungs
- Kumbhaka = air retention
Pranayama are breathing techniques that, depending on the technique bring numerous benefits such as:
- immediate feeling of anxiety relief
- lowering tension
- relief from headaches
- helps with concentration
- induces meditative states
- releases toxins from the body
- energy treat the person
- reduce excess fat
- purify the blood
- regulate the nervous system
- among many others

My name is Cátia and I have always been passionate about Alternative Therapies and, above all, for helping others.
I am a Classical Music Instrumentalist and Teacher, but I am also a Holistic Therapist and Wellness Consultant, Yogi, Reikian, Buddhist, Essential Oils Specialist and Health&Nutrition Coach. These are the areas that I love and dazzle most.
Thus, my mission is to help people to live a more natural, healthy life and with greater well being through the Therapies that I have, one of them being Yoga classes certified by the Yoga Alliance.
My mission with Yoga is to help you relax, to discover the potential of your body, your mind. Yoga is understood, lived and felt differently by each one of us. For some it can be just a practical way to keep in shape, for others it is a whole spiritual process that connects the body, the mind and the energy.
The origin of the word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root “Yuj” which means to unite. The union, in this context, means in fact the union between our body, our mind and the energy in order to reach a state of high consciousness and well-being.
Yoga can also be seen as a way of bringing us here and now. With this practice, we are teaching our mind and body to focus on what is happening in the present moment and to enjoy and savor what each moment brings and teaches us. Yoga, in my opinion, is much more than beautiful poses, defined bodies, breathing exercises or eating habits. Yoga is the celebration of life. Respect for our body, for our thoughts. It is to participate in our lives actively and consciously. It is a beautiful way to fall in love with ourselves every time we look at ourselves.
Yoga is the journey back home and, whether online or in person, I will be very grateful to accompany you on this beautiful journey that takes you to the most intimate of you.

Professora muito simpática e carinhosa com os alunos. Sempre pronta a ajudar, bastante prestável e profissional.
View more recommendations
