About Utku
I want to show and teach my own method of piano/music practice within the concept of harmony building. We'll start covering the counterparts from Bach and try to analyze them, whilst at the same time discover the basic movements and choices that was made during the Jazz Era. We'll melt theory with practical thinking and artistic approach in the same pot.

I started taking saxophone lessons when I was 15, wanted to learn jazz and improvisation. It took a great chunk of time for me to get going because all my teachers were school-thaught and fans of memorizing.
No matter how much I tried I couldn't comprehend the theory or harmony for a long long time.
After that, I decided to change my studying methods and then met Barry Harris. His technique and classical understanding changed my whole perception to the music.
I am basically here to relieve you from the pain of theory :) and help you unlock the doors of composition, improvisation and the solid grounds that all musicians need.
