About Sean
Hello! My name is (miss) Sean Clark, I am an 18 year old Sittingbourne/Belfast based uni student, studying English.
Having achieved 9s in both English Literature and Language GCSE, and achieving an A* in my English literature A Level, I am confident in my ability to aid students of all ages and abilities (reception to sixth form) in any English (literature/ language) and comprehensive based learning.
So far, I have successfully tutored three GCSE level students, (references upon request), and my own writing experiences have extended to work placements on leading UK newspapers (The Sun, Fabulous Mag), where I was able to perfect my own writing skills.

I have found that one of the most common struggles for many English students is getting their ideas on the page, so my methodology aims to pull the best ideas and interpretations from the student, from their source (whether it be a play, novel, or exam text), and order these ideas into a formula that can applied to not just English, but any other writing opportunity.
In addition to improving writing skills, I can create mock exam questions, and provide structural support; model answers, context sheets, a general list of universal techniques.
Understanding the text is the key to passing any exam! So writing techniques aside, I aim to ensure the student can understand the core message behind the text and the writer’s intentions. So communication and active vocal recall will be a key part of my lesson structure, to improve oral skills and ensure their level of understanding is the best it can be.
Lessons will typically be between 30-60 minutes, but I am fully flexible in timings, so longer sessions are always available; whatever works best for the student!
Whether it be English language or literature (or both!), I am able to assist in all areas of the subject e.g SPAG, classic literature, Shakespeare, modern plays, set texts, exam questions etc.
