About Mahkayla
Teachers are an important and vital component of learning and development, the pedagogical knowledge that they provide is important for the ever-evolving world that we live in. For this reason, I would like to be a part of this society of educators to help children mainly focused on primary years to develop the skills as well as the knowledge and understanding that they need by laying the foundation for success in a continuously changing environment. My ambition to teach is influenced by my own experience as a TA within multiple primary school settings and seeing the lasting impact my assistance had on the students that I worked with. The demanding environment that teachers work in require you to be adaptable to the learning challenges, funding, extensive paperwork and more. However, the rewards of providing the nurturing educational environment that is necessary for positive growth and development by far out ways the demands faced. Outside of the classroom my life experiences in both the British Royal Navy and TA work are contributory as they have shaped the person that I am today. Upon finishing my BA Hons degree in Primary education, I wish to specialize in Key stages 1 &2 as it is a vital educational point in a child’s development. The educational abilities of children can be vast and tasking myself the ability to ascertain and differentiate between these abilities confidently is an area that I wish to master.
