People are often born fantastic at singing, creative writing and all such arts but rarely is someone born great at mathematics - Maths, most of all, is the subject one can excel in with a good introduction as well as sheer grit and practice. I learnt this myself after barely achieving a 5 toward the start of Year 11, then through hard work and the right teacher achieving A*s at A-Level.
Maths may be made extremely inaccessible due to how abstract it gets; we live in the bodies we learn about in Biology, and eat and drink that of Chemistry but little is tangibly there in the world of Maths. Topics often lead to the interminable "why", and all it takes is for a theme to click once with the right explanation to strangely but satisfyingly at once all make sense. This is because, unlike Biology or Chemistry or all else, Maths builds on top of itself- you are not learning about genes and suddenly the respiration of plant life but a structured, logical line of reason that draws parallels to every other topic and reveals new knowledge otherwise hidden just underneath the parapet of the prior.
I review students' existing understanding of Mathematics and develop bespoke lessons and lines of reasonings to lead to a better underlying intuition of the links behind the fundamentals and most complex themes at A-Level.
As is well known, in the subject there is no such thing as luck; no subjectivity, no perhaps this, that or the other - what you write is either right, or wrong. You commandeer your grade and progress based on what you know, not who is marking your paper. Through lessons we will arm you with the tools required to answer all questions exams may throw at you and explore the world of Maths.
