Study Abroad in South Korea

Many Korean universities are recognized globally, meaning the degree you earn will be appreciated no matter where you travel next for work or further studies. Additionally, tuition in South Korea tends to be quite affordable, especially compared to other study-abroad destinations like the US, UK, or Australia. The cost of living and other expenses like transportation and food are reasonable, and with the Indian rupee currently being worth about 16 South Korean won (KRW), your money can go a little further in many situations!

Safe and Welcoming Country for Foreign Students

Hospitality is ingrained in Korean culture, making international students feel welcome in this faraway land. You can easily supplement your studies by exploring the country, participating in local festivals and events, and speaking with locals. South Korea is an amazing place for cultural immersion!

Top Notch Universities

As mentioned, the educational institutions in South Korea are world-class, with schools like Seoul National University and KAIST are recognized for their academic excellence. Korean universities have state-of-the-art facilities and world class teaching with an affordable price tag.

More Cultural and Adventure Opportunities

Due to the predominantly safe atmosphere of South Korea, you can feel free to explore different cities or even the countryside in your off-time. You may even be able to go to neighboring countries for more enrichment and exciting travels! No matter where you go, you’ll have a variety of urban and rural landscapes to explore.

Working and Living in South Korea

Life in South Korea is generally of high quality, since Korea has many social benefits in place like healthcare, public transportation, and comprehensive civic services like waste removal, making it a pleasant and clean place to roam.

Much of the country is very welcoming to foreigners who embrace the Korean way and help contribute positively to society. It may be difficult to find a job in South Korea unless you’ve studied there because employers want employees who are fluent in the language and social customs. Etiquette and politeness are extremely important in Korean society, so an employee making a social faux pas while representing the company is something no employer wants to have!

South Korea is also an extremely safe country with a very low crime rate, meaning you can travel with fewer worries.

Overall, life in South Korea can be very fulfilling and pleasant if you can mesh with society well.

Corresponding with Korean Businesses

South Korea is a hotspot for MNCs (multinational corporations). Some of the global companies headquartered in South Korea include Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and Kia. The South Korean economy also encourages many startups, meaning there are lots of opportunities to work with blossoming companies that may need an outside perspective for innovation.

Whether you work for an MNC, consult with foreign correspondents, or provide freelance services to international startups, knowing Korean is a wise career move.

Many large companies train their employees in foreign languages, including Korean, as a way to improve international business relations. If your company isn’t interested in providing classes (their loss!) you can always prioritize learning Korean on your own.
